Finally got my book back from a friend the other day so i figured this is a good of a time as any to give my favorite author some free pub. Colin Harrison has been an immediate favorite from the time i picked up his novel Manhattan Noturne. You can find all his shyts on amazon, but you oughta just hit up your local borders and drop that 8-10 bucks on the soft covers so i can keep reading. Here's his Wiki bio:

Colin Harrison (born 1960 in New York City) is an American author and editor.

Harrison is the author of seven novels, Break and Enter (1990), Bodies Electric (1993), Manhattan Nocturne (1996), Afterburn (2000), The Havana Room (2004, The Finder (2008), and Risk (2009). Four were selected as Notable Books by The New York Times Book Review. All are atmospheric novels of violence and suspense that explore the underside of city life, most particularly in New York.^[1]

His short nonfiction has appeared in The New York Times, New York Magazine, The Washington Post, The Chicago Tribune, Vogue, Salon, Worth, and other publications. He lives in the Park Slope neighborhood of Brooklyn, with his wife, the writer Kathryn Harrison. He was an editor at Harper's Magazine from 1989 until 2001 and since then has been an editor at Scribner.

At Scribner, Harrison edits both fiction and non-fiction. Among the writers he has worked with are Anthony Swofford, Ted Fishman, Craig Unger, Robert Ferrigno, and Chuck Hogan.^{[citation needed]}

Harrison attended the University of Iowa Writers' Workshop (MFA, 1986), Haverford College (BA, 1982), and Westtown School (1978), a coeducational Quaker boarding school, where his father, Earl Harrison, was headmaster.^{[citation needed]}

Here's the remix for the David Banner song that every person on earth should download and put on repeat for an hour today. In light of recent and past atrocities in my city, some hometown heros decided to get on the remix and put some steam into the save our kids/city movement. There was a rally (postponed due to turnout), and still will be a video shot soon. Here's the update on the rally stole up from Andrew's spot :

October 19th, 2009 (Chicago, IL) Due to the overwhelming response, safety issues and the unexpected anticipated number of attendance, “Something’s Wrong,” community rally has been postponed to mid-November.

The event was expected to attract 500-700 attendees but superseded the expectation in such a short time frame. Other issues that involved certain people within community organizations and activists sparked major open dialogue among the participating Chicago celebrities and artists including Twista, Malik Yusef, Naledge, Tiffany of Bad Girls Club, J-Niice (B-96), to go back to the drawing board and gather a greater support through out the City of Chicago, major corporations and as well as major community influences.

Founder of Heal The Hood Foundation David Banner, responded saying, “this is a movement not to condemn kids or any organizations but the safety of the kids is my biggest concern, we want to stay on task and continue what we’ve started, we want everyone to have the opportunity to contribute.”

The major influence of this event has ignited a call to action, in gathering suggestions in how to move forward. An email and website will be setup for input, ideas and linkages for organizations, activists, the city of Chicago, students and parents to get involved and create a greater perspective and unity within Chicago.

This is my first season participating in a fantasy football league and i must say that it is making the NFL 3 times as exciting as usual. If you haven't had a chance to get into a league with your I-know-everything-about-football-shyt-talking buddies, i suggest you try it out. Not encouraging gambling but a monetary prize for the superbowl winner does make it interesting. My team is now 4-2 and i plan to keep the wins coming. Team Red Hulk Succkaz!!!!
